Grandma Jorgensen's Quilt

Today, I'd love to show you another quilt made for little Ingrid. This blue and green beauty was made by her Grandma Jorgensen (Kirk's mom). When Ingrid gets older, I hope she realizes how lucky she is to have a granny and grandma who sew her such lovely things!

It's a generous baby-sized blanket. Perfect to line the bassinet, or lay underneath her as she plays on the floor. Kirk's mom picked out pretty blue and green fabrics to match Ingrid's nook (in our bedroom). Then she sewed long strips of fabric in straight lines to form a faux chenille look. What a lot of patience and skill that must have taken! (This is why I'm not good at sewing.) I love the soft, nubby texture of it. So does Ingrid. When I sit her down to play, I'll often find her pulling at the tufts of fabric. And aren't the rounded corners such a nice touch? xo, e
