The Center of Attention

How lucky is Ingrid that she gets to have two of her great-grandparents near by? They love her to pieces of course... and she feels the same. I grew up in close contact with several of my great-grandparents, and I feel so grateful for that. They were such sweet people, and I'm looking forward to meeting them again on the other side.

Sunday Morning

A lazy sunday morning.... Ingrid's just watching some soccer with her dad.

She loves holding hands.

Bath Time

I don't think Ingrid is sure how she feels about the bath. She usually sits there with a serious and cautious look on her face, as if she's trying to understand what is happening to her and if she should like it or not.

But she always loves getting dried off in a warm towel. Her softest, cuddliest one has a fox hood. Her Grandma Jorgensen made it for her and it's pretty awesome. I'll have to show it to you...

Vintage Duds

My mom used to wear this pretty little blue dress when she was Ingrid's age. Then I wore it. Then my dolls wore it. And that pretty little doll Ingrid's holding? My granny made it for my mom, and I remember playing with it when I was little, too.

There are some disadvantages to coming from a family of pack rats, but this is not one of them.

Gotta love that crinkly nose and gummy smile!

Busy Hands

Since she was born, Ingrid has had busy little hands. She loves to clasp them together, even when sleeping. Lately, she's been getting really good at grabbing things.

She's Strong

Ingrid loves standing. If you try to make her sit, a lot of times she'll lock her knees and push with her feet in an effort to stand instead. She's actually been able to hold her own weight up for quite a while... she just doesn't have the balancing thing down.

We think she's going to take after her cousin Lucy and be a little ball of energy. When we brought her home from the hospital, she could already hold up her head a little. She started rolling over by around 7 weeks, I think. And she's hardly ever still. She's constantly rubbing her feet back and forth against each other, or kicking against something, or waving her arms up and down, or moving her head from side to side.

I began walking at 7 months, so I think I may have been cursed (ha ha) with a baby who'll do the same. I keep telling her it'd be just fine with me if she waited until a year or more to walk. I'm just sayin'.

Look at what I can do!

These days, she practices raising her legs as high as possible at every chance she can get.

The Squirm

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Jorgensen for the "Amelia" hats. And I forgot who gave her the butterfly onesie, but she sure looks cute in it. So thanks!

With Her Grandpa Pollock

I'm not sure who gave her this striped outfit, but it's great! (Was that you, Heidi?)

Walks

I was a tiny bit jealous -- in a nice way, of course ;) -- when my friend told me that she and her baby go on hour long walks every day and have done so all winter long. But they live in Southern California. Not only is it freezing here in Utah, but have you seen the road we live on?! In the summer, it's lovely, but in the winter, it's a steep, rural, dirt road full of potholes and mostly covered in snow and ice.

We've had some slightly warmer days in the past couple of weeks, though, so I've started to brave it. I bundle Ingrid up in her beautiful snowsuit*, pack her into the Ergo*', and away we go. She seems to like it in a cautious sort of way. I like it for the fresh air... and the hope that it'll do something about this post-baby tummy of mine.

* Thanks to Granny & Papa, Ben & Kate, Caroline & Paul, and Mom & Dad!
' Don't worry. I figured out after we took this photo that I'm not supposed to carry her facing out like that. It's too bad, though, because she loves looking out.

Baby Toys

Stephanie did a post naming her top baby toys, and what would you know, Ingrid has all of them thanks to generous friends*. Three of which are in this photo: the bumbo, Ikea's play gym, and Sophie la giraffe. Ingrid loves all three and happily plays with them every day.

* Thank you to the Audettes & the Fords!

p.s. I'm loving this primary color combo on Ingrid.

Ingrid's Grandmothers

Ingrid with Grandma J at 3 months

Ingrid is a very lucky girl to have so many family members nearby... including her two grandmothers. Grandma J comes over on Mondays to help watch her, and Teeny helps out on Thursdays (and often other days, too, since she lives right upstairs). It's awesome. Thanks to you both!!!

Now we just have to figure out how to get Ingrid to take the bottle again so that Kirk and I can enjoy an evening out, or I can go and get my hair done or have a girls' night once in a while...

Click on Ingrid's face to see it alternate between a bunch of different expressions. :)
(If anyone knows how to make it move without having to click on it, please let me know. Thanks!)
